    Same issue.

I'm always surprised by how low quality and untrustworthy microsoft software is.

    This is frankly unacceptable.

    Hi,

This can happen because of software conflicts, corrupt installations, or issues with system files.

Here are some methods you can try-

    1. Close all open applications, restart your computer, and then try opening Excel or Outlook again.
    2. Try running Excel or Outlook as an administrator. This can help if the error is related to permissions.
    3. Launch Excel or Outlook in Safe Mode. It can help identify if the issue is caused by an add-in or extension.
    4. Try Repairing Microsoft Office.
    5. Update your Microsoft Office if not up to date.
    6. Disable your antivirus or firewall temporarily to see if it resolves the issue. If it does, you may need to add exceptions for Office programs.

    Best Regards.

    1. Select File > Options.
If you cannot open a file in Office, open a blank document to start the Office application. For example, if you cannot open a Word file, open a new document in Word 2016 or later versions to see the option.
    2. In the Options window, select Trust Center > Trust Center Settings.
    3. In the Trust Center window, select Protected View, then uncheck the boxes that relevant to where your file is from.
