Microsoft Purview, formally known as Azure Purview, is a data governance service that allows organizations to discover, understand, and manage their data assets.

Subscription: An active Azure Subscription is required to deploy Microsoft Purview and its managed resources. You can create a free subscription from here.

License: Azure Purview is a paid service with a consumption-based pricing mode. Depending on the requirement, you may require different types of licenses for Microsoft Purview, you can check the Microsoft Purview pricing here.
Microsoft 365 license is required to create sensitivity labels for use in Microsoft Purview which gives the benefit of automatic labeling.

Tenant requirement: Azure Purview is integrated with Microsoft Entra ID, to use Azure Purview, you need a Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) tenant.
