I am trying to follow the Connect to and query Azure SQL Database using .NET and Entity Framework Core tutorial. When I try to run Update-Database from the Package Manager Console I get the following error: A task was canceled. I have provisioned the server with Passwordless Authentication and ran the diagnostics script and there were no issues found. This is the detail:

@Wilko van de Velde I changed the authentication to SQL User name and password to rule out a SQL authentication issue. That worked. However, I am trying to get the Entra authentication to work. That is still failing. So I believe that Entra is not passing the authentication onto SQL Server. I even took my PC out of the equation and deployed to Azure App Service and it still fails to make changes to the database from the web form.

Regardless, my goal is to setup a dev instance with the following characteristics:

    On my PC:

    VS 2022

Project of type ASP.NET with Entity Framework Core 8.0

    Azure:

    SQL Server Database

    Azure App Service Deployment
