Guess what - seems Microsoft fixed their "gmail connector service" and things automagically started working again. Note to the scrum team owning the Outlook Client for Win11 ... provide proper error messages, especially if your downstream service is unavailable!

Glad to hear this issue has been resolved! Thanks for the sharing.
However, due to a recent update in forum policy, the question author now is not able to accept their own answers.
So I have written a brief summary of the solution this issue. Please feel free to accept it as the answer, which would benefit others who also has similar issues in forum.
Issue: There is a syncing issue with Gmail in the Outlook mobile app.
Solution: Reference thread:https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/outlook-email-app-wont-sync-gmail/474d75da-bfdb-4176-bdf1-7377d78a0757?page=2.
Try this on the second page. it worked for me and had to do it on all my devices. Best of luck,
Joris summary from the link on page 2: I was finally able to solve the issue and now my gmail account is working in Outlook for iPhone and Mac. Here's what I did: Step 1: Go into your desktop's browser and log into your gmail. Step 2: Click "settings" then "all settings" in the drop down that appears Step 3: Go to the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab and make sure "Enable IMAP" is selected and on Step 4 : Go to the "Labels" tab Step 5: Uncheck all the "Show in IMAP" checkboxes Step 6: Log out of Gmail account on desktop Step 7: Go into your Outlook app on iPhone or Mac Step 8: Go into accounts and sign out of the gmail account that's not syncing. MAKE SURE YOU CLICK "SIGN OUT OF ALL DEVICES", if you did not click sign out of all devices then go into your other devices not working and sign out on other devices before moving to next step Step 9: Log back into your gmail account in on desktop and check all the "Show on IMAP" checkboxes you unchecked earlier. Step 10: Once all boxes are checked, refresh the desktop window and then sign out of gmail on your desktop Step 11: Add your gmail account back into your outlook app in iPhone or Mac. Make sure you select "Sign in with google" if prompted. That's all. Everything should be working fine after the steps above. I hope this helps everyone as I had to figure this out by trial and error as it was extremely annoying.
