Debug using iPad that connected to Mac Mini using Windows-Mac connection

Hi, I have set up the Windows-Mac connection to debug MAUI iOS directly from the Windows machine. The connection is good. I also disabled the hot restart feature to get the iPad (which connects to the Mac Mini) debug. These are the errors I encountered during the build process. I wonder if I should update my Xcode to 15.0 ? The last time I updated my Xcode, everything just fell apart, I wouldn't be able to run my iOS.Xamarin project and had to reverse the Xcode environment which is painful. User's image

Based on your error, please change the Linker setting to Linker Framework SDK only. Is that working? What is your iPad's iOS version? If your iOS version is 17.2, you need to update XCode to 15, before you update XCode, you need to update VS as well.

Changing the linker setting doesn't work.

My iPad's iOS version is 17.2 though I don't know how it relates.

My MacOS for the Mac mini is 13.5.1

The Xcode version is 14.2

My VS is the latest of 2022.

also based from this post, VS 2022 for Mac doesn't support projects that use .NET 8.0. Does it mean I will never be able to run my project which uses 8.0 on VS Mac 2022 anymore?

Hello, You need to update your XCode to 15.2. And please do not update your iOS version of iPad.

No, my VS for mac version is 17.6.7 (build 417), I can create and build .NET 8 MAUI project.

Those errors seem to be gone, however, there comes a new one as below: Getting restore information for project /Users/agro-rodney/Desktop/THAN/Agronomix/GenovixApp/GenovixApp.csproj /usr/local/share/dotnet/sdk/7.0.313/Sdks/Microsoft.NET.Sdk/targets/Microsoft.NET.TargetFrameworkInference.targets(112,5) : error NETSDK1139: The target platform identifier android was not recognized. Unable to create package spec for project. '/Users/agro-rodney/Desktop/THAN/Agronomix/GenovixApp/GenovixApp.csproj' I tried this work-around and didn't work out either https://github.com/dotnet/maui/wiki/.NET-7-and-.NET-MAUI The current installed sdk version is 8.0.101, so I modified the .json file accordingly using the approach above.

Please open your project‘s csproj file， if you have setted all net8.0 value like net8.0-android;net8.0-ios;net8.0-maccatalyst.

Those errors seem to be gone, If these errors have been fixed, could you open a new thread for this new issue?
