You should be able to use the same licence to activate server with GUI mode or Core version.

I purchased a Server 2022 Core license, but find that I need the GUI version. Can I upgrade my license to the GUI version? How would I go about doing that?

It is much more reliable, requires less patching, is much more secure by design, and performs better. I am not aware of any options for converting Core editions to those with GUI. Unless you need to establish a Remote Desktop Services server and need GUI for management purposes only, a way better option for you would be to use Windows Admin Center as a management GUI for your headless server and call it a day.

2024-03-12T15:20:19.22+00:00 When I try to install with GUI mode, and put in my key, I get an error that my license doesn't support the GUI install. And it is true that I purchased a Core-install license. I just want to trade in my core license (and an additional fee, no doubt) for a GUI license.
