2024-03-13T09:20:32.6+00:00 Hello @amit,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.
Are you using a .NET based WinForm project? Or a .NET Framework based WinForm project?
Do you want to enable JIT debugger? Did you get any error(above message usually appears when an exception occurs)?
If you are using a .NET Framework based WinForm project and want to enable JIT debugger, please try to press Win + R, type and run
regedit
, navigate toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AeDebug
, select AeDebug, on the right, right-click > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value, change its name to Auto, and its value to 1. Do the same forHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AeDebug
. In your project, open App.config file, and add<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
between<configuration>
and</configuration>
. Rebuild and run your application. -

2024-03-14T09:46:18.1133333+00:00 Hi @amit,
The App.config file usually includes in .NET Framework projects(in the project folder), if you are using a .NET project, then it doesn't exist.
I tested on my side. If you modified the Registry keys which I mentioned above, the error should disappear for .NET Framework projects and some .NET projects(like Console project), but it seems that it doesn't work for .NET WinForm projects.
You mentioned "When I am opening any file this error is coming, ask for jit debugging enable", I'm thinking if you need to check this option => Tools > Options > Debugging > Just-In-Time > Just-In-Time Debugging. But I'm still a little confused, did you get any other detailed error message? Could you elaborate what you did and when this error occurred? Are you using Visual Studio?

2024-06-10T22:08:00.13+00:00 I am trying to debug a program for my 89yo father. This message: Method not found: 'void AxMOVIEPLAYERLib.AxMoviePlayer.set_SpectrumVisibleWhen PlayAudio(Boolean)'
I've reached out to the software company and have been trying to modify to use the JIT feature but do not know where to find the app.config since I'm not actually programming. Any advice?

2024-07-19T16:21:51.96+00:00 I have same issue, however I am not using Visual studio rather powershell script. What's happening that my script has multiple long functions that I am trying to call using Button click. This is resulting the JIT debugger error. I have checked the all the prescribed registry values. However, I don't think I can use App.config file in powershell. Wondering if anyone else has experience anything like this ?
