How to fix the Outlook Status not syncing with Teams

When I open the Teams application is not showing my or anyone status next to there name In Teams or in

Outlook.

For Example: When I do a Busy\Search for an employee to setup a meeting invite, I can see the current status of that

Employee, It's not showing Green for available or Red for meeting.

    Here is a potential fix. From the below article about fixing Presence in Outlook it mentions to manually set the registry to "Teams"

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IM Providers

    Name: DefaultIMApp

    Type: REG_SZ

    Data: Teams

    Check your registry, but in my case, I has two entries under IM Providers, so I changed the Data from 'Teams' to 'MsTeams' and that fixed the problem.
