Launching VM on Ubuntu Azure VM

Hello,

I have an Ubuntu 20.04 VM hosted in Azure. On this VM, I would like to launch another VM using VirtualBox, as that seems the most Linux-friendly.

The VM has a size of Standard E4-2s v3, which should support virtualization capabilities if I'm correct.
However, whenever I try to open a VM using VirtualBox, I get the error "VT-x is disabled in the BIOS for both all CPU modes (VERR_VMX_MSR_ALL_VMX_DISABLED)".

Is this fixable? Are there any things I can try to make it work?

If I have to provide more information, please let me know!

Thank you in advance.

    Hi Luke,

Please confirm that you created the VM with Standard security. You can do this by navigating to the VM in the Azure portal -- Overview blade. See screen snippet below:

azure security type standard overview tab

If the VM wasn't created with Standard security you will need to create it again and make sure to select Standard, similar to below screenshot:

    azure security type standard
