Azure Backup - Unable to restore failed server data to new registered server/client - Errors on the encryption passphase

Our production server was corrupted by ransomware - we installed the MARS backup agent on a new client, registered it with our data vault and attempted to restore our data using the backup agent passphrase we set almost 6 years ago and received the error "Status: File(s) recovery job failed. Error: The encryption passphrase provided is incorrect. Please provide the same passphrase that you used previously to register this server to the vault".

The backup key generated back in 2018 and has been unmodified since so no changes being made - backups have been solid and we have almost 400GB of data backed up. In searching, other threads, it was mentioned that changes to the MARS backup agent over the years with how different versions of the agent stored the passphrase's special characters - not sure if we'd be affected by this as the passphrase was system generated so I have no idea what characters were used as its hidden and only allowed the key to be downloaded/displayed after creation.

How do I troubleshoot / resolve this issue as while the Azure backup service has been rock solid for years, now that I NEED to restore my data I am unable to. Please help.
