Migrating Excel Files from On Prem to SharePoint while retaining links

Question

We are currently planning a migration of active files from our on prem servers to SharePoint.

We copied over a folder which has Excel workbooks with links to other workbooks. It appears the links do not work when opened from SharePoint.

We have hundreds, if not thousands of files, that work like this. Does anyone have an idea on how to migrate the files with the links intact or a method to fix the links that doesn't require having to manually change each file individually?

We use Microsoft 365. Build 16.0.17628.20110 Click-to-Run

Per my research, the only option to bulk edit links in the excel file is to create macros programmatically do it.

Hello, I did a test copying the files to SharePoint online and it didn't present the problem. I copied in two ways: dragging and using SharePoint Migrations Tool (SPMT) https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointmigration/how-to-use-the-sharepoint-migration-tool. If your target is SharePoint you won't have any problems.
