Visual studio 2022 errors: HRESULT: 0x80040402

I have installed Visual Studio 2022 Community edition.

I create a new project.

Select: Asp.net web application

Select: Folder path, etc.

Select: .net framework 4.8

Get the message: Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040402

Note: I have been using Visual Studio for years and I trust the product.

Try to close the error box and Visual Studio. When Visual Studio asks, save the solution file (.sln). Then start Visual Studio and open the solution. It is empty. Right click the solution in Solution Explorer, “Add”, “New project”, and add the same kind of ASP project. Usually this works.

If you try to install .NET Framework 4.8 or .NET Framework 4.8.1 separately from here: Download .NET Framework, will it work?

If you have installed .NET Framework 4.8/4.8.1, please kindly try to repair it by running the setup file => Repair.

@Viorel your solution works for me - still not sure why it's happening but this is a workaround.
