Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with the face recognition feature on my Unlimited Video Indexer account. Despite completing the necessary form for face recognition and receiving approval, I have observed that the system fails to recognize and identify well-known public figures, such as presidents and prime ministers, in my uploaded videos. Instead, they are labeled as "unknown."

Given that these individuals are widely recognized, I anticipated that the system would automatically detect and identify them. Is there a way to resolve this issue?

@Hussein Safa I believe you have used this form for submitting the request. This is actually an approval for the face API which supports this feature and is used by VI. If your account is approved, then the API will only return faces recognized from a preset database. As per the transparency note on this page and as quoted below:

    • Celebrity, landmark, and brand recognition: Use Image Analysis to identify commercial brands, popular landmarks, and celebrities in images or videos from a preset database of thousands of global logos, landmarks, and celebrities (includes around 1 million faces based on commonly requested data sources such as IMDb, Wikipedia, and top LinkedIn influencers). You can use this feature, for example, to discover which brands are most popular on social media or brands that are most prevalent in media product placement. Celebrity recognition is limited to approved customers.

This is a closed list and I do not think it publishes more information in public domain.

So, in this case, you can raise a support case to check if the faces in your video are part of this list or train a person model if required.
