Hi there,
The organization I work for hosts many events globally and often to external participants, we are now on Teams Premium and have been enjoying all the new features and what they offer. We use an API for language interpretation services and it seems like external users without a MS license can't access these features. As we are an organization bound by language laws we have to offer FR/ENG. I wonder if there is a work around or any tips? We use the API from a company who tells us that Microsoft has a limitation in this regards.
When prompted with this question, this is the answer they give us:
Microsoft does have a limitation with not allowing external users access any third party applications and they shared in the past that this is for security reasons. Unfortunately since it’s their product limitation there is nothing KUDO can do. Ultimately the decision and changes would have to come from Microsoft.
Is this correct? Is there any possible work arounds that would not compromise security?

This behavior is intentional. For security reasons, external users might face constraints when trying to access third-party applications in Microsoft Teams. Individuals without a Microsoft license may experience limitations with certain functionalities or third-party applications within Teams.
The issue is that this is pushing us to want to use other services like zoom instead who allow these things, I have a hard time believing that Microsoft a leader in this kind of field is unwilling to find a way to make this work for it's users. We are a full on Microsoft shop in my organization, we have top of the line products and keep moving our solutions to be Microsoft but there are still many gaps. I would hope that this kind of issue is considered. We pay about 750K a year for this API to help with interpretation, while the new webinars function allow interpretation there are basically no options and it's a voice over, perhaps at the very least this feature could be ameliorated.
It's unfortunate because otherwise Teams is excellent and is more and more bridging the gaps it once had, this one however is an issue I hear about daily from my colleagues who organize hundred of events per year catered to international folks.
I had found a way to make this work for externals but as you mention it's a very high security risk for the organization and one we are not willing to take as we pay millions for our digital solutions and expect that they should deliver to some extent.
