Hi I am trying to enable the aipservice for my tenant so we can use email encryption. We have business premium licenses. I believe I need to run the enable-apiservice to enable this encryption feature however I am unable to do connect-apiservice. I get the following error:

Connect-AipService: The attempt to connect to the Azure Information Protection service failed. Verify that the credentials you are using are correct and try again. If you have continued problems, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=251909.

The correlation ID is 266d3fe0-df0f-45bd-860f-06d219bd5e5c. Please note and provide this value if asked by support for it.

Connect-AipService: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I have tried uninstalling the module multiple times but so far I am still unable to get this enabled for our tenant.

    Hi @Jonathan Kadoo ,

Our AIP service PowerShell module, AIPService, only supports running on Windows PowerShell. We support the AIPservice on the Windows platform with the below PS version:

    User's image

There is a version of PowerShell that runs on Macs, Linux, etc., but our module does not support that version.

If you are already using the correct Windows Powershell version, please confirm if you can log into the Azure portal with that user (without any errors), and make sure that you are running the command in an elevated command prompt.

Otherwise it seems like this could be a permissions/authentication issue that may require further troubleshooting. If you would like to create a one-time free support case to look into this more deeply, feel free to reach out to me at AzCommunity@microsoft.com ("Attn: Marilee Turscak") and include your subscription ID and a link to this thread.
