Backup and disaster recovery

Hi,

If the client server already using a disaster recovery service that create a real time replication from one region to other. Can we suggest them to use vm backup service also? If motive to both azure services are almost same. Can some one please elaborate on this?

    Both having pros and cons, you have to choose which is suitable for your client requirement. Real Time replication is occur higher cost and higher availablity. The recover time is faster than vm backup. The same as VM backup is cost effective and need time to restore the backup.

    Hi,

    Yes, Azure Backup can be used with Azure Site Recovery. The two compliment each other.

    ASR is mainly for disaster recovery whereas Azure Backup is for things like recovering files due to corruption, users deleting files by mistake, etc. Azure Backup also gives you a way to retain backups for long periods.
