Xbox app requires update, error code 0x80245006
I have been trying to play a game I purchased but it has to be launched through the Xbox store. When I open the Xbox store it says updates are required but the download keeps failing.
I uninstalled the Xbox app and Gaming Services thinking re-installing them might help, but now I cannot download those either. I keep receiving the same error code 0x80245006 which appears to be some type of server/proxy error..... no idea where this came from. I am definitely not using any kind of server or proxy.
After multiple searches on forums and reddit I have:
- Power cycled the PC.
- Disable Real-Time Protection.
- Uninstalled and Reinstalled the apps using PowerShell as Admin.
- Run the Gaming Services Repair Tool (screenshot of message is attached here).
- Running the other built-in app repair tools (including Xbox app & Windows Updates).
- A few other things... idk I lost count.
Really just want to play the games I have paid for :(
