DNS TXT Record Setup and Domain Transition for Microsoft Teams

I hope this message finds you well.

We recently purchased a Microsoft Teams license, and the domain provided to us is mydomain.onmicrosoft.com. After adding a TXT DNS record on our DNS server, the Microsoft admin center indicated that our domain is already registered, showing the domain as mydomain0.onmicrosoft.com.

Currently, our users are using Microsoft Teams with user@mydomain.com. With the new license, it seems we have moved from mydomain0.onmicrosoft.com to mydomain.onmicrosoft.com. I am concerned that if we delete the old TXT DNS record and enter the new one, our users may lose their data on Microsoft Teams.

Could you please provide guidance on how to proceed without risking data loss for our users? Are there specific steps we should follow to ensure a smooth transition?

    Thank you for posting in Q&A forum. To resolve this issue, please kindly: 1.Backup the DNS TXT record and Teams data before making any change or adjustment (Or make a snapshot) 2.If possible please remove the DNS TXT record in your UAT environment and check if it works. 3.Remove the TXT record and check if everything goes well, otherwis roll the change back.
