Hello Craft, Jacob,
Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A and thank you for posting your questions here.
I understand that you would like to know about how Microsoft handle your credentials and data policy in some of the listed technology solutions.
Solution
Microsoft's AI systems, including Azure, Azure Machine Learning Studio, Azure Databricks, and Copilot, have specific policies regarding the use and confidentiality of customer data.
To answer your questions:
Q1
Under an Azure AI product, will my confidential information be used by Microsoft to learn to benefit other customers or stay confidential with me?
Microsoft does not use customer data to train or improve its machine learning models for the benefit of other customers. Your confidential information remains private and is used solely to provide the services you have requested. According to Microsoft's Data Protection Addendum (DPA), they commit to not accessing or using customer data except to provide the agreed-upon services. You can read more from the following link:
Q2
Under an Azure AI product, is any work product created considered my work product or Microsoft's?
Any work product created using Azure AI products is considered the customer's work product. Microsoft does not claim ownership of any data or content that you provide or create through their services. As per Microsoft's Online Services Terms (OST), customers retain all rights to their data, and Microsoft acts as a data processor, handling the data according to customer instructions. Q3
When license is over, what happens to any information either entered into an Azure AI product or created thereby?
When your license or subscription to an Azure AI product ends, Microsoft has specific procedures for data retention and deletion. According to the DPA and OST, upon termination of the service, Microsoft will retain customer data for a limited period to allow for data retrieval if requested. After this period, Microsoft will delete or anonymize the data, ensuring it is no longer personally identifiable or accessible. Customers can also request the deletion of their data at any time during the service period. You can read more from the following link: https://www.microsoft.com/licensing/docs/
