Two weeks ago I set up a new format on my list that showed 4-5 columns and allowed users to see all of the fields on one page without needing to scroll. It looked great..... till this change. Would have been nice if with this change they would have given a way to control the form size so that we could get back the multiple column options. Would be great if new features would not break older and very useful ones. Or if designers would put a bit more thought into things. I know they can't read everyone's minds but some things should be common sense.
SharePoint Layout has changed
Hi Team
Has there been a recent upgrade to SharePoint because the format and layout has changed on my list?
The form itself is very narrow as shown below;
I hope this only temporary, because it's impacting close to 70 users and I'd recommend communicating these updates/disruptions so we can plan accordingly.
Cheers,
Harry

2024-06-20T06:20:34.46+00:00 Hi @Harry N Nomikos ,
It's a normal phenomenon. This is a new experience released by Microsoft for List.
Microsoft made views easier to create and access by arranging them into tabs at the top of the screen. users can use custom views that slice, dice, and arrange the right information for specific audiences or scenarios.
This will begin rolling out late February 2024 and expect to complete by late June 2024.
Until now, there is no option to return back to previous lists user experience.
Meanwhile, thank you for your feedback and suggestion. We appreciate your input, and we are always looking for ways to improve SharePoint.
To more conveniently switch between the new and old lists user experience, I recommend you open a service request with Microsoft or give suggestion in the feedback portal. If you want to learn more in response to this update, we suggest you can create a new service request in M365 admin center as an admin, and more professional will help you.

2024-07-04T13:02:34.4933333+00:00 Hello @Xyza Xue_MSFT ,I have also seen this change in my SharePoint lists.
I see it as an opportunity, as old SharePoint lists were sometimes a pain to modify. For example, the grid mode was having severe problems and loss of information.
With the new version, it seems to be a lot faster.
2 questions :
- Do you have documentation on the changes and its consequences ?
- I actually see this new layout only on the list "origin page". And when i integrate the list as a web part in a page, it has the same layout as before : Can we use the new layout in a list webpart ? If not, will it be possible in the near future ?
Thanks a lot,
David.
