Thanks for your post. This issue may be caused by a power-saving feature that turns off the Wi-Fi adapter when the device is in sleep mode. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:
- Open the Device Manager by pressing the Windows key + X and selecting Device Manager from the menu.
- Expand the Network adapters section and locate your Wi-Fi adapter.
- Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter (Qualcomm(R) WIFI B/G/N/AC) and select Properties.
- Click on the Power Management tab.
- Uncheck the box that says, "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
- Click OK to save the changes.
You need also check Windows update on your Notebook.
- Go to Settings.
- Click Windows Update.
- Select Check for Windows updates.
- Click Install Now if updates are available.
If the issue still persists, we will be going to refresh the network driver on your notebook.
- Open the Device Manager by pressing the Windows key + X and selecting Device Manager from the menu.
- Expand the Network adapters section and locate your Wi-Fi adapter.
- Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter (Qualcomm(R) WIFI B/G/N/AC) and select uninstall.
- Then do not put any check mark that say complete delete. Just click uninstall or okay below.
- Then, restart the Surface to apply changes.
- Once the device is on install again the WIFI and then observe if the issue is fix.
