Unable to delete calendar group in Outlook

Dear Microsoft Representative,

I use Microsoft 365 products as an employee of Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ. I hope you are able to assist me.

Per the attached screenshot, I created a calendar group in Outlook. It is named "IP&O Service Center" and connected to a Teams channel of the same name. Since the resulting calendar lacked search capability (see red highlights), I created an Outlook calendar and named it "Team Service Center" (green highlights). I painstakingly duplicated each event from the original to the new, just so my fellow managers and I could utilize the application's full functionality.

Here is the problem: The calendar created from the group is proving to be unremovable. Seemingly every Microsoft Support topic related to deleting calendars (all of which are linked below) instructs the user to right-click the calendar in the Navigation Pane. Yet no such option appears for me in either New Outlook, Classic Outlook, or Outlook on the Web. I do not wish to simply hide the unwanted "IP&O Service Center" calendar by deselecting its radio button in Outlook calendar view. I want to eradicate its existence to prevent confusion on the part of my staff and alleviate clutter in my own Outlook application. I have noticed that when I deselect the button and sign out of Outlook, it sometimes appears reselected upon my next sign in.

The above leads to my final question: Is Microsoft Support able to assist beyond sharing links to its own or third-party sites? Just in case the devil lies in the details of the web address, this is it: https://outlook.office.com/calendar/group/ipo.rutgers.edu/iposervicecenter/view/workweek.

Best,

Anthony

    Hi @Anthony Petracca ,

    Thanks for your reply!

According to the screenshot you provided, looks like you have created a Microsoft 365 Group. To delete it, please contact your administrator and log in to https://admin.microsoft.com/adminportal/home?#/groups, as shown in the below image. You can find the group you created via Teams & Groups > Active teams & groups > Teams & Microsoft 365 groups.

    User's image

Then click the three dots icon and click Delete group.

    User's image

Based on the above, please restart Outlook and you will find that the group will not appear.
