How to turn off Hyper-V

Question

Hi,

I want to use my Android Emulator (Bluestack) but it says hyper-v needs to be turned off because it will decrease 50% of VM power, I created a new operating system by cmd (Windows 10 no hyper-v) but that didn't work (But after restarting, I chose Windows10 no hyper-v and signed in, and checked that hyper-v was still on. What should I do next?) so I need someone help me fix it pls.

Hi Anh,

Hope you're doing well.

1. In the Control Panel window, click Turn Windows features on or off. In the Windows Features window that opens, deselect the Hyper-V checkbox. Then restart your PC.
2. Or you can choose to use PowerShell to disable Hyper-V:

Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V-All

3. In addition, if your machine is Windows server 2019, Windows server 2022, etc., you can try to remove Hyper-V in "Server Manager".

Hi,

You can always open BIOS when booting your machine, and disable "Virtualization" in BIOS. Once this is done, the Hyper-V will surely be unboxed. The method of disabling Virtualization through BIOS depends on the manufacturer of your Motherboard, so if you're familiar with the brand of your Motherboard, you can find the manual online on how to do it.
