Visio is opening two unrelated files at the same time.

Recently when I have been using Visio, it is opening two files despite clicking open on a single file.

For instance, I want to edit File 'A'. Double click File 'A' leads to opening both File 'A' and 'B'. These two files are for some reason affiliated with each other it seems, and I do not want this to be happening. Looking for help in only having the one document opening at a time. Thank you.

    Hi @JV

Please go to Visio, click File > Account > Product Information, check the version name.

I suggest you try following steps to have a check:

    Hi @JV

Thaks for your back and kind sharing.

By the way, since the Microsoft Q&A community has a policy that "The question author cannot accept their own answer. They can only accept answers by others.", and according to the scenario introduced here: Answering your own questions on Microsoft Q&A, I would make a brief summary of this thread:

    Issue Symptom:

Visio opens two files despite clicking open on a single file.

For instance, double click File 'A' leads to opening both File 'A' and 'B'. These two files are for some reason affiliated with each other it seems.

    Workaround:

Locating that file that was opening on its own in a separate folder and just deleting that file.
