Remote Desktop Open File Warning

Hi

We have a Host Pool with some VMs. We also have a Application Group with our Application associated to it.

The Application is a .exe file on a Azure File Share.

Now to my issue:

When I use the RDP file and open the whole Desktop and start my App trough the UNC Path, I don't get any Warnings.

But when I start the same Application trough the Remote Desktop App I get the Open File Warning.

Is there any reason why when using the Remote Desktop App I get the Warning and when I start the Application trough the Desktop itself the Warning doesn't show?

I already added the file path and URL in the Internet Options. I even tried to Enable the settings that opening files from an extern location shouldn't cause any warnings.

I also tried to set it in the GPO.

Did anyone have the same issue and knows why it behaves like this?

Hi , Welcome to MS Q&A

I think it seems that the Open File Warning you're encountering when starting an application through the Remote Desktop App could be related to file redirection settings. When you connect to a remote session through the Remote Desktop Web client, you have the option to allow the remote computer to access local resources such as files, printers, and the clipboard on your local device. If file redirection is enabled, files opened in the remote session may be redirected to the local device, which could trigger an Open File Warning when the application is started.

For more information, you can refer to the following Azure documentation:

As these are some general troubleshooting steps, please let me know if you have any further questions
