Setup replica in Azure PostgreSQL flexible server without VNET Peering

Is it possible to setup an Azure PostgreSQL flexible server with its replica located in a different region without VNET peering.

Thank you for your response. I am unable to understand why you have mentioned that the data flows through your network setup.

Let me provide you a bit more details about the setup. We have an Azure postgresql flexible server in East US and we want it to be replicated to Central US for DR purposes. Do we need to peer the VNETs where the primary and the dr replicas will reside?

Yes if you are using Vnet in the first place for primary and replica servers , this is documented in the networking page Networking overview with private access (virtual network) - Azure Database for PostgreSQL - Flexible Server | Microsoft Learn
