Hi

We have Corporate (Work) Microsoft account (Microsoft 365 Business -licenses). Devices are joined to AAD/Intune.

We have a problem with one user, where user have managed to create a Personal Microsoft account, using the same email address as his Corporate Microsoft account is using.

Problem is that I have not managed to get rid of this account in Teams Desktop app.

I have set the Personal Microsoft account to be closed using instructions below.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/how-to-close-your-microsoft-account-c1b2d13f-4de6-6e1b-4a31-d9d668849979

I have removed this Personal Microsoft account from Windows Settings -> Accounts -> Email and accounts.

I have logged off from Personal Microsoft account via Teams app.

I have removed all credentials regarding Teams and also "virtualapp/didlogical" and "SSO-POP_Device" from Control Panel -> User accounts -> Windows credentials and booted the device.

Still, when I open Teams desktop app, I can see the Personal Account in the menu, when I click user picture in the upper right corner.

Also, when I go to Teams app Settings -> Account and organizations, I can see this Personal Account in there.

Personal Microsoft account is not present anywhere in the device, except for Teams app.

Question is, how can I get rid this Personal Microsoft account from the Teams app once and for all?

    Hi @IMK

According to your case description, you have completed the main steps, but there are a few additional actions to ensure that your personal Microsoft account is completely removed from Teams:

    Clear cache:

On Windows, press Win + R to open the Run dialog box, enter %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams and press Enter. Delete everything in the folder.

On macOS, open Finder, press Command + Shift + G, enter ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams and delete everything in the folder.

    Check other devices:

Make sure you have signed out and deleted the account on all devices, including mobile phones and tablets.

    Restart devices:

After completing the above steps, restart your device to ensure that all changes take effect.

If your Teams will log in to an account by default, set the following Windows registry to turn off the pre-fill of the username:

    Subkey: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Teams
    Entry: SkipUpnPrefill (REG_DWORD)
    Value: 0x00000001 (1)

Thanks for your understanding and support.
