    Hi @Khushi Joshi

    Please try following workaround:

    Registry entry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Excel\Options] “DisableRobustifiedUNC” = dword:00000001

The reference: Someone else is working in <T:\Folder\File> right now. Please try again later

    Hello Khushi Joshi,

Greetings! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform.

The error message "Someone else is working in file right now, please try again later" in Excel can occur when multiple users are trying to access and edit the same file simultaneously. It could also be caused by a network issue or a problem with the file itself.

To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Ensure that your Office suite and Windows are up to date.
    2. Sometimes, temporary files created by the system can cause this issue. Look for files with a similar name but with a different extension (like .tmp) in the same directory and delete them or open the .tmp file in Excel and work on this file. You don't get such issue with this file and save it after your work is done. Close the file after save and rename the file with required name and Excel extension. The presence of .tmp files may mean that Excel is trying to save while creating temporary backup files. After a successful save, these files should be automatically deleted.
    3. Make sure that your VPN connection is stable and there are no delays because otherwise, it could lead to this error and check your network connection and make sure it is stable and not experiencing any interruptions.
    4. Check if the file is stored in a location that you have access to and that you have the necessary permissions to edit it.
    5. Try saving the file with a different name or in a different location.
    6. If the issue persists, try repairing or reinstalling Microsoft Office.

Hope this answer helps! please let us know if you have any further queries. I’m happy to assist you further.
