Azure Automation Hybrid Worker

I am experiencing difficulty when trying to get the Hybrid worker extension to Honor the extension Bypass list to access our key vaults on a private endpoint , I have a case logged but we in month 3 of no joy.

Any ideas

ensure that the Hybrid Worker is correctly configured with access to the private endpoint.

verify that the Virtual Network (VNet) where the Hybrid Worker resides has proper DNS settings to resolve the private endpoint.

ensure that the extension bypass list includes the correct entries for the key vault's private endpoint. Check that the bypass list is correctly applied to the Hybrid Worker extension.

if you are using custom DNS settings, ensure that the private endpoint's DNS resolution is correctly configured. Verify that the DNS settings are propagated to the Hybrid Worker and that it can resolve the private endpoint.

in fixed this by adding the proxy bypass to the extension and seems to be working now.. the only thing i cannot figure out is how to get the automation account to default to hybrid worker

Azure Automation does not have a global setting to make a Hybrid Worker Group the default for all runbooks. You will need to set the Hybrid Worker Group for each runbook individually. Ensure that your runbooks are compatible with Hybrid Workers. PowerShell and Python runbooks can utilize Hybrid Workers but ensure that the scripts are designed to run in that environment.

To assign the hybrid worker group to runbooks:

Navigate to Runbooks:

In your Automation account, click on Runbooks.

Select a Runbook:

Choose the runbook you want to configure to use the Hybrid Worker.

Edit Runbook Settings:

Click on Edit to modify the runbook settings.

Set the Hybrid Worker Group:

In the runbook configuration settings, look for the Runtime options.

Under Hybrid Worker, select the Hybrid Worker Group you created or identified from #01.

Save Changes:

After setting the Hybrid Worker Group, save the changes to the runbook.

Start and monitor the runbook execution to see if the jobs are being processed by hybrid worker from Jobs section in automation account.
