Thanks for your post. Based on my experience, it is recommended to create an external vSwitch on each host and plug them into a common physical switch.
To create an external virtual switch,
- Open Hyper-V Manager and select Virtual Switch Manger from the right pane.
- Select the External type.
- Selecet Create Virtual Switch.
- Select the host network adapter to connect to.
- Once the virtual switch is created, connect the virtual machine to the vSwitch.
- Right click the virtual machine and select Settings.
- Select Network Adapter.
- Select the external virtual switch.
Now the VMs can communicate with each other for the virtual switches are connected through the host network adapters.
