Hi,

My laptop is suddenly requesting BitLocker Recovery Key.

I located it on my Microsoft account, however it does not accept it.

How do I resolve this issue?

Many thanks.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

If your recovery key is stored in your Microsoft account, you can access it by logging into your Microsoft account from another device to find the BitLocker recovery key.

1.Open a web browser on another device, navigate to https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey, and log in to your Microsoft account. After that, you will see a list of BitLocker recovery keys.

Note: If your device has previously been logged in with a work or school account to an organization, the recovery key might be stored within that organization's account.

You can find it directly by following the steps below. If you are unable to access it, you may need to ask your organization's system administrator for your recovery key.

    A. Open a web browser on another device, navigate to https://aka.ms/aadrecoverykey and log in to your work or school account, then click on [Devices].

    B. Expand the device for which you want to find the BitLocker recovery key, and then click [View BitLocker Keys].

    C. Match the Key ID, and then click [Show recovery key]. After that, the BitLocker recovery key will be displayed.

    1. Use the Recovery Key ID to find the corresponding Recovery Key in your Microsoft account.

For detailed steps, see the official Microsoft documentation: Find your BitLocker recovery key - Microsoft Support

3.Enter the corresponding Recovery Key, and then the system will be able to enter Windows operating system.

I hope the information above is helpful.

    Best Regards,

    Yanhong Liu
