Calendars are created as group calendars by default

The appointments that I create in my outlook calendar are displayed by default in one of the group calendars, which causes my calendar entries to be cluttered. Can I change the default created meeting not in the group calendar

Does the error occur on the Outlook desktop client? To further confirm if the issue is more related to Outlook desktop client, if possible, please log in to your web mail and do the same test to check if the issue persists.

And how did you create an appointment on your calendar? Could you describe the detailed operation?

In addition, here are some suggestions you may refer to:

Please check whether your own calendar folder is selected when adding an appointment, and it is recommended that you only select your own calendar when creating an appointment to avoid creating an error in the location.
You can also contact the administrator of the group calendar to change your permission to Reviewer, so that you can only browse the group calendar and not have permission to modify it, so as to avoid creating the appointment location error.

How did you create an appointment on your calendar? Would you please provide a screenshot of the issue? (In order to avoid privacy leakage, please remember to hide your personal information.）

Do you mean even if you only tick your own calendar folder to create a meeting, the meeting will still appear in the group calendar by default, right?

If so, please take the following steps:

Calendar Permissions: Please go to Right-click>properties>Permission to check calendar permission to ensure that your personal calendar is not shared with the group calendar by default.

Default Calendar Settings: Sometimes, the default calendar for new events might be set to the group calendar. You may refer to Set default calendarto change this setting in your calendar preferences to ensure new events are created in your personal calendar only.

Meeting Invitations: If you are inviting the group calendar to the meeting, it will appear there. Make sure you are only inviting the necessary attendees and not the group calendar itself.

Remove and Re-add: It is suggested that please remove and re-add your group calendar to see if the issue persists.

If all above do not help, considering data file corruption, it is proposed that you create a new profile, re-add your account to the new profile and check if the same issue still occurs.
