How to fix event 300 Microsoft Office 16 alerts ?

Hi,

I have numbers of events 300 "Failed to parse element : VersionOverrides" on my computer.

I've already tried to repair Office (E3), but no success.

Can you help me, please ?

Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

I suggest you update the Windows patch to the latest version to see if it can solve the problem. In addition, to check the impact of third-party applications, you can try to open the computer in clean mode. If the problem still cannot be solved, I suggest you reinstall Office because the files in the Office installation are damaged, which will cause this error.

@Anonymous , I also get these messages every few seconds. It may have started with the 24H2 Windows update, which my computer installed in November, or the timing could be coincidence.

There are two Office-related add-ins that appear to be related to this: "Suggested Meetings" and "Bing Maps," neither of which can I figure out if I have. It's not obvious how to uninstall them if I do have them, but through Outlook web interface -> Add-ons, it looks like Bing Maps is selected there. I have run the full Online repair of Office and all the standard sfc /scannow and dism /restore... commands.

Here's the Suggested Meetings, Event ID 300 in Event Viewer:

I found one thing that might be related: "Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office." (Could that be what appears as "Suggested Meetings" in Event Viewer?) It shows a last updated date of 12/12/24 (4 days ago). When I try to Repair it, I get the following error, which might be a useful symptom:

Any ideas what's going on, and if that Teams add-in is related, how to fix it? I have tried removing that altogether, but that did not seem to stop the errors either. Plus, now I seem incapable of scheduling a Teams meeting for work from within Outlook (I think that's what that add-in I removed enabled). How do I get that back?
