Eric Ngoiya Greetings & Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

Azure is rejecting our debit cards which are accepted by other cloud platforms, hence preventing us from accessing azure resources. our openai credits are expired.

Please use a valid Credit/Debit card which has international transaction enabled.

When you choose a card, Azure displays the card options that are valid in the country/region that you select. Contact your bank or card issuer to verify that your credit card is enabled for international transactions.

Virtual or pre-paid credit or debit cards aren't accepted as Payment for Azure subscriptions and unfortunately you won’t be able to sign-up for an Azure subscription without using a Credit card. Also, American Express (AMEX) is no longer supported as a Payment Instrument for Azure accounts.

For more details, please check Troubleshoot a declined card at Azure sign-up and see if that helps.

Also, You can refer billing-troubleshoot-azure-payment-issues for troubleshooting guidance on payment issues.

Do let me know if that helps or have any further queries.

Hello Eric Ngoiya, sorry to hear that your debit card is getting rejected for Azure billing. Here are some possible solutions to this.

    • Check Card Type - Ensure that your debit card is not a virtual or prepaid card, as these are not accepted by Azure
    • Verify Card Details - Double-check that the name, address and CVV you entered matches exactly what's printed on the card
    • Card Activation - Contact your bank to confirm that your card is active and authorized for international transactions
    • Billing Threshold - Sometimes, a billing threshold can trigger an authorization that might be declined
    • Alternative Payment Methods - Try a different card or payment method and see if that resolves

See some of the common issues documented https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/troubleshoot-billing/troubleshoot-declined-card and https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/troubleshoot-billing/billing-troubleshoot-azure-payment-issues

If your issue still persists, it's best to open a support ticket with Microsoft directly.
