The most recent Windows 11 updates have caused a real problem with my Dell laptop automatically discovering the DNS over wireless

My Dell laptop recently updated Windows 11 with the two most recent updates. Now I cannot connect to the internet using wireless and the router in my home. Everything else in my home still connects to the router. Put the updated PC will not. I continue to get DNS server issue errors. If I plug the laptop directly into the router using a cat5 cable, the issue goes away. Something has happened. Has Microsoft come up with a fix for this?

If the issue started after a specific update, you could try rolling back the driver:

In Device Manager, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter again.

Choose Properties > Driver tab > Roll Back Driver (if available).

Follow the prompts and restart your laptop.

    Hello.

What is your Win11 version? Please provide update history so we can determine if updates are causing the issue.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this.

    Flush the DNS Cache:

Open Command Prompt as an administrator.

Type the following commands, pressing Enter after each one:

    ipconfig /flushdns

    ipconfig /registerdns

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

    netsh winsock reset

    Restart your laptop.

Click OK and restart your laptop.

    Update Network Adapter Drivers:

    Open Device Manager.

Expand Network adapters, right-click your wireless adapter, and select Update driver.

Choose Search automatically for drivers and let Windows find and install the latest drivers.

    Network Reset:

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings.

Scroll down and click Network reset. Follow the instructions to reset your network settings

If the above steps don't work, we recommend you can uninstall the latest updates to see if works.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
