Can I still create a Windows 10 password reset usb after forgetting login password?

I have a Thinkpad Windows 10 laptop but never used it for months as I bought a new Windows 11 laptop. Now, the Windows 11 laptop is my main working machine. The problem is that I can't login the Windows 10 laptop anymore as it says the password is incorrect.

I learn the password reset disk can help me unlock my Windows 10 laptop. Can I create a Windows 10 password reset usb on another device and use it to reset the password? I am not a tech savvy. Sorry if it is a silly question but i really need some help from the community.

Best,

Spangled

    Hello,

It's not a silly question at all! Unfortunately, you can't create a Windows 10 password reset disk on another device using the built-in Windows tools. The password reset disk must be created on the device you want to unlock before you forget the password. If you did not create a password reset disk beforehand, you won't be able to use this method now.

    Best Regards,
