Deleting my Microsoft Account (Azure seems to be blocking it)

I had to register for the first time here in order to ask this question. I want to stipulate that because I've never used Azure, never signed up for anything on Azure with this NOR on the account that I am trying to delete. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I'm doing various clean up of my online accounts for the new year, and I noticed I have this Microsoft personal account that is associated with my gmail account. Decide that I want to delete it.

I checked to make sure there's no active subscriptions, there's no devices connected to the account, I follow all steps, then press "next" on the account closure page and get a pop-up that says I "need to leave [my] work organization."

That's weird. But easy to solve, right? Wrong! I click the "Go to my work organization" and get this:

I've waited minutes. I've waited hours. I've waited days! Contact my IT help desk? I don't have an IT help desk. This is a gmail account that somewhere back a decade ago I made into a Microsoft account. No idea what it is - maybe it was on an Xbox? Here's some fun proof from this account's Outlook inbox:

The only email I ever received, from back in 2014 likely when I created this @gmail.com personal Microsoft account.

In "My Account" I see no Organization:

Probably because this is a personal account! I can't use any organization login page... because this is a personal account!

    Hi @Adrian Kerfarb

Thank you for reaching us!I understand that you are having trouble deleting your Microsoft personal account.
Based on the information you provided, it seems like the error message you are seeing is related to a work or school account that is associated with your Microsoft personal account.

Since you mentioned that you have never used Azure or signed up for anything on Azure with this account, it is possible that the work or school account is associated with a different Microsoft account that you may have used in the past.
could you check if you have any other Microsoft accounts that may be associated with a work or school account. by following the steps, you can find and Leave an organization where you have a guest account.
If you would like to close your Microsoft account, please go thought How to close your Microsoft account

If you are still unable to resolve the issue please do let me know in the comments section.
    Thanks,

    Akhilesh V.
