Hi Microsoft Startups Support Team,

I am currently using Azure under the Microsoft for Startups program, and I’m trying to get a detailed breakdown of my usage and spend.

In the Azure Startup Portal, I can see an overview of my total usage (~$2K), but when I try to dig into specific services, resource costs, and how credits are being allocated, the information is not clear.

What I Need Help With:

A clear breakdown of which Azure services are consuming my credits.

Guidance on where to find more granular cost details beyond the startup portal.

Confirmation on whether my current configuration is optimized or if there are cost efficiencies I should explore.

I would appreciate any assistance or documentation that can help me better track, understand, and manage my Azure spend.

Looking forward to your guidance!

Thanks

John

Thank you for reaching out to us on the Microsoft Q&A forum.

To gain a detailed breakdown of your Azure usage and spending under the Microsoft for Startups program, the Azure portal provides comprehensive credit usage data. This includes information such as resource name, type, region, and associated costs. You can view or download this data through microsoftazuresponsorships.com or via the link available on the Founders Hub homepage. This detailed insight enables you to identify which Azure services are consuming your credits.

Once your benefits subscription transitions to a paid plan, you will gain access to advanced cost management tools within the Azure Portal, including:

    • Cost Analysis – Provides interactive analytics and insights into your Azure spending.
    • Budgets – Helps you set spending limits and track usage against predefined thresholds.
    • Cost Alerts – Notifies you of significant cost changes, enabling proactive account management.
    • Advisor Recommendations – Offers optimization suggestions to reduce costs by identifying idle or underutilized resources.

    For reference:

These tools empower you to monitor, control, and optimize your Azure expenditures effectively.
