How to fix changed lock screen loop on Authenticator app

Hello! I've read about some solutions to this and went as far as to format my phone. I cannot get the authenticator app to work properly because every time I get a sign in request and I accept it, it tells me to re enable phone sign in because "screen lock has changed". I'm also getting login attempts every hour onto my account and it got locked. Because of the same problem with the screen lock, I cannot enable password less sign in. I had it enabled and working on my previous phone. Problem persists after updating from android 14 to 15. If anyone has a solution, again I have tried several but can try them again too.
