My mousepad is not working and I do not see the mouse or the mousepad in the device manager at all. How do I fix this?

I was using my laptop last night and my mouse was working fine. However, today, I went to my class and the mouse pointer worked for a little while, while the mousepad did not (scrolling was not working). Then, a few minutes later, the mouse stopped moving and disappeared completely. I use the function that shows a circle where you mouse is when you press ctrl, but the circle was in the middle of my laptop and there was no mouse anywhere near it. How do I fix this?

    Hi,

Which model is your laptop? Some models have had issues with the touchpad after software updates, including BIOS updates, which can sometimes cause problems with the mouse pad.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

If the computer does not automatically detect the installed hardware device, you can scan the hardware device by clicking Scan for hardware changes in the menu bar in the Device Manager window.

This problem may also be related to the influence of third-party software. I recommend that you open the computer in clean mode for troubleshooting:

I hope the information above is helpful.

    Best regards
