I have a users that when he signs into a server, his folder name is displayed with a capital first letter. c:\users\User. I looked in Active Directory and his login name is all caps. On his Windows 10 machine, his user name is lowercase.

Hi DonnellQ07_2605,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community Forums.

The case of a user name is handled differently on different systems, and Windows is case insensitive, meaning that the system recognizes a user as the same user regardless of whether he or she enters the name in uppercase or lowercase. Windows displays folder names formatted according to the user's actual username.

So your situation is normal and nothing to worry about.

Best regards

Neuvi Jiang
