I have been unable to log into my email after resetting password. Outlook allows me to create a new a password but when I input the new password it directs me to a page that says my sign in is blocked, that I tried too many times and to reset my password.

    Sounds like you are trying to reset your password while your account is locked. Give it a little bit (20 mins to an hour is common). Then try to log in again after your account is unlocked.

    Note that if you have anything that is trying to log in using your old password then it'll keep locking you out. Common scenarios include your phone or tablet that is running the Office software, such as Outlook. Ensure your devices are not trying to authenticate using the old password. The best way to handle this is to ensure the app(s) are not running or set to not sync to your account. Once you have correctly authenticated using your new password then you can you turn the apps back on and sync them again.

    Hello @maria gomez I hope you are doing well,

    Please follow this guide in order to resolver your issue : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/i-can-t-sign-in-to-my-microsoft-account-475c9b5c-8c25-49f1-9c2d-c64b7072e735

    I'm going to resume here what happened;

    After resetting your password, repeated sign-in attempts may trigger Microsoft’s security measures, temporarily blocking your account and causing an infinite loop. This lockout is designed to protect your account from unauthorized access, so when you encounter a “too many attempts” or “sign in blocked” message, it typically indicates that the temporary security threshold has been exceeded. In such cases, waiting for the lockout period to expire, clearing your browser’s cache and cookies, or trying to sign in using an incognito window or different device may resolve the issue.

    Sometimes just waiting 15 min is enough

    If these steps don’t help, you should use the “I can’t access my account” option to initiate the account recovery process, which may involve additional verification methods such as security questions, alternate email, or phone verification. In addition, double-check that you’re entering the new password correctly (ensuring that saved credentials aren’t auto-filling an older password), and if the problem persists, contacting Microsoft Support directly with details of your issue can aid in unlocking your account.

    😊 If my answer helped you resolve your issue, please consider marking it as the correct answer. This helps others in the community find solutions more easily. Thanks!
