Frequent Login Issues with Yahoo and Gmail Accounts in Desktop Outlook

Using multiple email accounts in desktop Outlook, including two Yahoo accounts and one Gmail account, has become an issue recently. For the past few months, frequent logins to these accounts are required, sometimes at least once a day or more. This setup had been working without such issues for years, but something seems to have changed.

If you have installed any non-Microsoft add-ins in Outlook, try disabling them.
If you are using any security apps other than Defender, try temporarily disabling or uninstalling them.

    OutlookにMicrosoft以外のアドインを組み込んでいたら無効にしてみて下さい。
    Defender以外のセキュリティ系アプリを利用されていたら、一時的に無効やアンインストールしてみて下さい。

    Hi @Brian Landmann

    Welcome to our forum!

Does the issue occur recently on Outlook Desktop Client? Do you have any specific operation before the issue occurred?

Here are some steps you may want to take:

    1. OAuth Authentication Changes:
      • Both Yahoo and Gmail have been enforcing OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication. If your accounts are not set up with OAuth in Outlook, you may face frequent login prompts.
      • If OAuth is not an option, please go to generate app-specific passwords.
    2. Clear existing credentials:
      • Close Outlook>Go to Control Pane>Credential Manager>Windows Credentials>Remove all credentials associated with your account>Restart Outlook
    3. Remove and re-add your accounts:
      • Remove and re-add your Yahoo and Gmail accounts in Outlook using OAuth 2.0 to see if the issue persists
    4. Update Outlook:
      • It is recommended that please try to upgrade to the latest version to see if the problem is resolved.
    5. Create a new profile:
      • If all above do not work, it is proposed that you create a new profile, re-add your account to the new profile and check if the same issue still occurs.

    Hope it helps!
