CAC Reader showing up in window security to enter pin for @army.mil account

Windows security > Sign in is not showing my CAC reader for remote desktop login even though it is installed and shows working. It does not allow me to choose an option to sign in with my PIN.

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

1.Do you have sign in option? If no or the setting is greyed out, you can try the registry setting to enable sign in option.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Settings\AllowSignInOptions value DWORD

0 = Disable

1 = Enable

2.If you only have one option like Password below, you can check if you Turn on convenience PIN sign-in.

Group policy: Computer>Administrative Templates>System>Logon>Turn on convenience PIN sign-in

Or the registry of windows hello(Convenience pin) is: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System] "AllowDomainPINLogon"=dword:00000001
