Hello Joanna Urbanska,
Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.
I have done a test in my lab on Win 11 Pro, and I have the same behavior as you (see screenshot below).
Here are some suggestions you might try:
1. Update GreenShot
Make sure you’re running the latest version of GreenShot. The developers may have released updates that address compatibility or display issues on Windows 11.
2. Check GreenShot Settings
Open GreenShot’s settings/preferences and see if there’s an option like “Hide tray icon when capturing” or “Minimize interface during capture.” Enabling such an option might force the capture interface to hide the menu before you start selecting the area.
3. Try to run the GreenShot in Compatibility mode and check if it helps.
4. Report the Issue:
If none of these suggestions work, consider reporting the behavior to the GreenShot developers. Since Windows 11 has some differences in handling overlays, they may need to tweak the software further. You can check their GitHub issues or official forums for any updates or workarounds offered by the community.
5. You can also try to feedback it via "Feedback Hub" app on your Win 11 machine.
I hope the information above is helpful.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.
Best Regards,
Daisy Zhou
