We want to transfer all our Cosmos DB to a single node instead of 2 nodes however the system does not let us this is really urgent as the pricing is way to high.

Is there any way of doing it without reaching Microsoft support and not deleting all our setup?

Thank you

    Hi @ Tech Deployment

    Greetings!!

To reduce the number of nodes and associated costs efficiently in your Cosmos DB without needing to reach Microsoft support or delete your setup, you can try the following approach:

    Navigate to the Azure Portal:

Open your web browser and go to the Azure Portal.

    Select Your Cosmos DB Account:

In the Azure Portal, go to "All services" and search for "Cosmos DB".

Select your Cosmos DB account from the list.

Open the Replicate Data Globally Blade:

In the left-hand menu, under the "Settings" section, click on "Replicate data globally".

    Remove the Region:

You will see a map and a list of regions where your Cosmos DB is replicated.

Click on the region you want to remove.

A confirmation dialog will appear. Confirm that you want to remove the region.

    Save Changes:

After confirming, click on the "Save" button to apply the changes.

    Monitor the Changes:

The removal process might take some time. You can monitor the status in the "Notifications" area of the Azure Portal.
