How to install Storage Migration Service on windows 2012 R2 as I wish to migrate applications and files from a box with old hardware to a box with newer hardware. Same operating system.

    Can robo copy copy my installed apps and registry files?

    No, robocopy is for moving storage and permissions to a new location.

    but a complex install of ERP plus sql server is probably not going to work. The much safer method is to clean install the operating system on new hardware, patch fully and migrate over to it.
