Hi,

could you help me and tell me how to disable file explorer or hide address bar in win 11 pro 22H2 v.22621.4317

I did everything I found on the net/tried everything - regedit, gpedit.msc - none of that worked. Some people confirmed that it didn't work for them either. Can you help and suggest a solution?

    Hello,

At this time, there isn’t a known supported method to completely disable File Explorer—or specifically hide its address bar—in Windows 11 (including version 22H2 build 22621.4317) using official settings, registry hacks, or group policy. Microsoft has redesigned File Explorer in Windows 11 and many of the tweaks that worked in earlier versions (like Windows 10) no longer have any effect.

If you absolutely must have a file browsing window without the address bar, your best workaround would be to look into third‑party file managers that allow such customization. Otherwise, the built‑in File Explorer does not support hiding or disabling the address bar in Windows 11.
