Hyper V IP adress for VM

Hi

I've installed Windows 10 with Hyper V options. My first VM is a Debian based True NAS Scale system.

It works BUT I just can't set a static IP for the VM. My VM boots up and I can access it thorugh dynamic IP, that was issued during the boot by the host (Hyper V) machine. If I set a static IP through VMs GUI (TrueNAS GUI) it'll work only untill I reboot the host (Hyper V) machine. If I reboot than static IP of the VM stopes working. So I have to reset network settings of the VM and use dynamic IP that was issued by the host (Hyper V) machnie!

I've tried setting up Virtual switches like external or internal for the VM, but right after I activate created virtual switch for the VM - it stopes respoinding over issued dynamic IP! If I remoove external or internal switch from VM settings, than VM starts being accessable over issued dynamic IP.

This Hyper V software is driving me nuts! I'm really thinking of switching to Proxmox.

Looking foward to your help !

Pavel

    Hello,

You can check your firewall and gateway. You can ping from another PC and confirm if there's any response. If ip in the same ip address ranged cannot connect to each other. Check if your MAC address can be resolved. You can use arp -a to see all your address and ip, confirm if you have the terminal side in your table.
