    If you are using Microsoft Defender, ensure real-time protection is ON and that automatic scanning is scheduled.

    Open Windows Security > App & browser control:

    Enable Reputation-based protection.

    Enable Exploit protection.

    Turn on Tamper Protection under Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Manage settings.

    Open Windows Defender Firewall > Advanced Settings:

    Block unknown inbound and outbound traffic by default.
